Krakow Film Music Festival 2023 program announced

The Polish city of Krakow hosts a film music festival (FMF) each year in May. Visitors can enjoy concerts, meetings with composers and workshops about film music. We have covered many editions in detail on this site, and yesterday they announced the concerts for the 2023 edition of the festival:

Thursday, May 25 – Kaczmarek2Cinema 
This is a concert focusing on the music by Jan A. P. Kaczmarek, but also from other young Polish Composers. During this concert, the Polish Soundtrack Award will be presented as well.

Friday, May 26 – FMF Echoes of Space
The FMF Echoes of Space concert is an immersive event combining electronic film music with a surround sound system prepared for that occasion. It will include music from Everything Will Change by Gary Marlowe.

Saturday, May 27 – FMF Space Gala
This year, the festival invites us to space. This concert will include some of the hottest film titles from other worlds: Avatar: The Way of Water, Gravity, Solaris, Arrival and many others.

Sunday, May 28 – FMF4Kids: E.T. – Live in Concert
Experience all the mystery and fun of the unforgettable adventure in the beloved movie that captivated audiences worldwide, complete with John Williams’ score performed live by a full symphony orchestra in sync with the film projected on a huge HD screen!

Monday, May 29 – The Music of Patrick Doyle
In the neighboring city Katowice, a concert will be held to celebrate the music composed by Patrick Doyle.

Tuesday, May 30 – Hans Zimmer Live – Europe Tour 2023 
Hans Zimmer is touring through Europe with Hans Zimmer Live at the same time as the FMF, and he is collaborating with the festival for his concert in Krakow.

Soundtrack World will most likely be present again at this festival.
