World Soundtrack Awards 2020 goes online

The World Soundtracks Awards is one of the biggest, oldest, and one of the most important film music events in the world and is held each year in Gent, Belgium. This year they are going to celebrate their 20th edition but it should not come to a surprise that having a regular edition is sadly not possible because of the coronavirus. As an alternative, the organizers have chosen for a very interesting online edition. For this edition, the concert and award ceremony for the World Soundtrack Awards will be streamed live on the internet. Guests are announced as well, with Alexandre Desplat as the main guest, but also The 2020 World Soundtrack Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to acclaimed composer Gabriel Yared, who was the guest of honor at the very first edition of the WSAwards in 2001. Finally, the music of Michael Abels will also be performed, since he won The 2019 Discovery of the Year WSAward.

If you want to virtually attend the concert, you have to fill out the World Soundtrack Awards 2020 registration form
