Vangelis passed away at 79

Composer Evángelos Papathanassíou, better known as Vangelis, died on May 17, 2022. He has not written for movies for many years, but some of his soundtracks from the ‘80s are still revered until this day, including Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner. His music from that time period showed the world that brilliant film music can be created by the use of analog synthesizers.
